Robert R. Kaplan, Jr.
Rob’s practice is concentrated in the areas of securities, business representation and real estate investment. His experience representing businesses is wide ranging, including: business formation; mergers and acquisitions; general corporate and commercial law; securities compliance; private offerings; tax; trade secrets; strategic partnerships/joint-ventures. His nationwide practice in “like-kind” exchanges and tenant in common (“TIC”) syndications, as well as other forms of syndications, real estate funds, institutional financings of real estate acquisitions and real estate investment trusts (“REITs”), is a natural extension of his extensive work in securities and transaction offerings.Rob has represented clients as diverse as Fortune 100 companies to start-ups, including a start-up wireless internet provider, a national sports league, prominent professional athletes, various private securities and real estate investment groups and a propane distribution company engaged in a large-scale consolidation. Over his career, Rob has been counsel in securities offerings/transactions and syndications worth approximately $2 billion. Rob is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.
